Salt Lamps from the Himalayan Mountains! Created by nature and formed over hundreds of millions of years ago, these salt crystals are mined 800 meters underground in salt rock mines. These natural mineral Salt Crystals are collected from one of world oldest mines of rock salt. They are carefully shaped to retain the unique, natural shape and crystal structure of the salt rock. Therefore, each salt lamp displays its own unique beauty! Coloring, weight, height and shape will vary.

Beautiful and millions of years old the, salt rock crystal, is known for its ability to ionize the air, thus enhancing your well being and improving your health. Negative ions are essential for our health and well-being. The freshness of the air after a thunderstorm, on a mountain top, or by the seaside, is due to the high concentration of negative ions in the air. On the other hand, the reduced well being one feels in highly polluted areas, artificially air conditioned offices, or when certain hot dry wind conditions exist, are usually due to an unduly low negative ion balance.

In addition, crystal salt is believed to help in the cure of many diseases. Bioenergotherapists and homeopaths in Western Europe have recommended crystal salt lamps for a long time to support treatment of allergies, respiratory system and blood system diseases. They are often used in the treatment of rheumatism. Due to its beautiful and rich colors, salt lamps are also used in the color therapy, i.e. chromo therapy. Their soothing light helps neurotic persons and people suffering from insomnia. Feng Shui art connoisseurs have also appreciated the lamps.

How To Care For Your Salt LampIdeally these lamps are meant to remain on most of the time to keep them warm and receive benefits from their unique characteristics. In such a use the following problems will not occur.

1. Salt has hygroscopic properties, which means that it draws water from the surrounding atmosphere. Salt Rock Lamps should, therefore, never be placed in a humid room or outdoors. In humid conditions, the lamp surface may be slightly damp to the touch. Turning on the lamp for a few hours dries it very quickly.

2. If you plan not to use the lamp for long periods of time, but want to keep it on display, wrap it in a polythene bag over the lamp, providing a hermitically sealed environment to protect it from humidity.

3. Cleaning of the lamp should be done with a slightly moist sponge or cloth. Remember, salt is highly soluble in water so using a wet cloth is not recommended.

4. Keep the lamp out of the reach of children. These lamps are rocks and can hurt children.

5. In case of severe humid conditions, it is better to keep the lamp lit to avoid a water pond around the lamp.

6. Unplug the lamp before changing the light bulb to prevent electric shock.
